Default Best items for measure for measure inscription

I have about a dozen measure for measure inscriptions and was curious what other items I should try to put them on. I put one on a ruby maul, hoping to salvage a ruby or two. That didn't pan out, but does anyone have thoughts on what other candidate items to try?

i've found that NF purps give some great returns -- often the common mats are more valuable than rare mats. Anything that gives iron or dust, or feathers or granites. You can get close to 200 if you are lucky, which can be several k.

Purps usually give common mats, golds often give rare mats, but the rare mats are usually junk, so just vendor the golds if you dont want to salv anything off it

I throw great conchs with m-f-m inscripts and salvage with normal kit and get around 60-100 dust per salvage. Easy sell with dust stacks.

Stuff that only salvages into common materials are the best bet.

...Or use a regular salvage kit on it, rather than an expert, and you'll get a shton of common mats.

I usually use my M4Ms on ruby daggers and jeweled daggers from Nightfall. But I've only ever gotten one ruby or sapphire doing this, never two at a time. I don't think I've ever gotten a ruby from a ruby maul, and I have done my share of vaettirs. Other times, it's usually on granite hammers (for granite) and bramble stuff (for plant fibers).

-Protective icons and Medusa-head Accursed Icons are good for granite.
-Ruby Daggers, Diamond/Iridiescent Aegises, Jeweled Daggers for rubies/sapphires/diamonds.
-Dolyak Prod Staves for iron and dust.
-Starfish Focuses for mega dust.

I'm almost certain that the merchant value affects the quantity of the salvage. A 412g Starfish Focus is more likely to exceed 120 piles of dust than a 194g Conch which will likely yield 85ish.

You could trawl through the wiki "contains x"categories, for example Category:Contains deldrimor steel will return a list of all items that have a chance to salvage into DS ingots.

(edit) Actually, that was a pretty poor example. Take a look at ...contains ruby instead
